An Alien in a Complex Space.

When I first started exploring the topic, I did what most people do — I googled “UFO.” I had no idea what else to search for. Like many, I was drawn in by the recent government hearings, the Pentagon reports, and, yes, Tom DeLonge’s involvement. Before I knew it, I was piecing together a web of information that my friends would probably call a conspiracy theory. And honestly? I was hooked.

My research is still in its infancy, much like the collective understanding of these phenomena. As I dig deeper, I’ve made it a point to share what I learn, knowing full well that I’m figuring things out as I go. But stepping into this space, I quickly realized how daunting it can be — especially when even small missteps can invite sharp critique.

A recent comment on one of my articles drove this home. The commenter pointed out a gap in my understanding of UAP terminology, specifically the origins of the term and its connection to Dr. Richard Haines and NARCAP. The critique was sharp, and while the message itself was valid, the delivery felt less like a helping hand and more like a reminder of how much I didn’t know. It left me wondering: is this how we encourage new voices in this field?
