Interview Q&A: Picking ‘Raccoon’ as the animal you’d choose to be.
Today I sat down for an interview feeling completely prepared for any question they could throw at me. I had done my research on the company, I had studied my own resume to try to remember what I did ten years ago, and I had even practiced some questions with ChatGPT.
What I didn’t anticipate (though probably should have) was the dreaded question, “If you could choose to be any animal, what would you choose and why?” There are many great resources on the internet for preparing for these types of questions. You can even find lists of examples you might pull from, some of which are:
- Dog: Known for its loyalty, kindness, and the ability to work well in a team setting. These animals have a friendly and supportive personality.
- Dolphin: Representing intelligence, effective communication, teamwork, and harmony.
- Elephant: Seen as strong, focused, and family-oriented, with a high degree of loyalty and determination. They also never forget anything!
- Giraffe: A symbol of foresight and gentle nature due to their long necks and ability to see great distances. They’re calm and strategic animals.
- Monkey: A monkey is seen as playful and intelligent and often understood to be an advanced problem solvers.
