Using Canva for Teams

I’ve been utilizing Canva for over a decade, and it has become an essential component of my technology stack. In the past year, I managed a Canva Team account with users from service delivery, operations, and sales departments. Today, my new employer initiated their first Canva Teams account for the marketing department. Given this new opportunity for collaboration and process efficiency, I’m reflecting on the lessons learned from managing a team and using Canva extensively over the years. Hopefully my experiences can help you with your team!

Saving: Naming Conventions, Tags, Folders

Make sure your entire team understands the importance of naming conventions, tags, and folders. Especially in multi-functional teams, the amount of content can grow rapidly. Being able to search is dependent upon a few things:

  1. File Names: Name files with careful intention. Include key details that help you search for and identify it later. Consider things like: dates, content type, service line alignment, client, or other details.
  2. Tags: Especially for documents without words, make sure you ‘tag’ the files with appropriate key terms. Instructions.
