What Tom DeLonge Wants You to Know About UFOs
He went from selling out stadiums to sitting in rooms with ex-intelligence officials, unraveling the secrets of the cosmos. Tom DeLonge is on a mission, and it’s bigger than music.
Introduction
I recently decided to dive into Tom DeLonge’s story — a journey that’s taken him from Blink-182’s frontman to one of the most visible public figures in the UFO and UAP conversation. Like many fans, my perspective on Tom had largely been shaped by Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker’s reactions to his departure from the band. Back then, the split felt like a messy “divorce,” and I’ll admit it — I sided with Mark and Travis. Their frustration with Tom was loud and clear, with words like “disrespectful” and “ungrateful” coloring my perception of him.
Mark even joked at shows about Tom’s UFO obsession, and Travis had once recounted Tom scanning the night skies for UFOs outside their tour bus or organizing Bigfoot search parties on the road. At the time, it all seemed eccentric at best. But now? With Mark recently admitting during a concert that “Tom was right about aliens,” I couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to Tom’s story than I’d given him credit for.
